On this International Women’s Day, we celebrate the women in our lives and in the world who have stoked our courage and imaginations.
We also honor one of Songwriting Works’, and founder Judith-Kate Friedman’s, greatest supporters: Shulamis Levin Friedman (z”l) who passed away on March 16th, 2015 at the age of 86.
In homage to inspirational women everywhere — those who are living and those who have gone on — we invite you to participate with us in a creative project blending images and music.
Please take a moment to share with us memories and/or photos of women who have touched your life. Send them to us as a reply to this message. You can also include audio if you like (links or mp3s). We’ll compile them into a montage to be unveiled starting on March 16th.
As SW’s Sam Robinson put it so beautifully: “Relationships form the cornerstone of our existence, providing us with guidance, support, and, most importantly, joy as we traverse this adventure called life. When we open to the support and wisdom of another, we steep ourselves in their experiences, thereby expanding our own sense of life.” This is especially true when we honor and learn from our elders and our origins.
We look forward to hearing from you and to including your stories of women that matter in our upcoming March 16th special issue.
