Songwriting Works™ Educational Foundation serves hundreds of elders, families and practitioners each year through:

• Hands-on songwriting workshops and artist-in-residence programs with elders and others
• Trainings for arts, healthcare, and education professionals
• Respite for caregiver programs
• Intergenerational workshops and events

 

To date, 3,000 participants have composed more than 300 original songs.

Audiences around the world hear the songs through:

 

• Community performances and publications
• Recording, radio, and film projects including the internationally acclaimed CD “Island On A Hill” and Nathan Friedkin’s documentary "A 'Specially Wonderful Affair" both featuring songs and performances by Singers & Songwriters of the Jewish Home San Francisco, average age 87.

 

In addition, Judith-Kate Friedman and associates serve as consultants to the fields of arts, aging, creativity, health, music, wellness, social services and education. They offer keynote presentations, produce special events, consult on creative programming, legacy projects and print and internet publications.
