June 2014 Songwriting Works East Coast Tour:

Trainings and events with Songwriting Works' founder Judith-Kate Friedman took place: at NCCA's national Creative Aging Leadership Exchange and Conference in Washington DC. Staff training and community songwriting took place at Goodwin House in Alexandria, VA. Artist-in-residence programs were held in rural Amherst County with memory care participants and members of Lynchburg Meals on Wheels who wrote a progressive song en route to lunch - hosted by Amherst-Glebe Arts Response. In NYC, SW caught the musical theater vibe composing a song for LGBT Pride with members of NYC's Sage Center and Elders Share the Arts. The tour came full circle with a panel of experts discussing arts importance for those living with Alzheimer's on Phila's Boomer Generation Radio June 24th (Download).
